Additional lines can be added to support each mast. These upright lines should be mounted even with or behind each mast. Otherwise they would prevent the mast from folding back.
The secrete to getting these small ships to fit into a bottle is making all rigging so it folds. One way is to use a small length of wire which runs through the lower end of the mast. The wire is folded down on both sides. Both tips will be inserted into hole in the ships deck. It is this hinge that allows the mast to fold flat.
